Biography
Teaching. After my MA in Music from Nottingham University, I completed my secondary PGCE in Music and Drama in 1982 in Winchester. Have taught music, drama and English in schools for about 12 years, and have also worked in arts admin at the Royal Opera House, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Boosey & Hawkes. Currently teach priivate singing, piano,violin and theory at home (adults and children), successfully achieving various grade exams and auditions for musicals, stage schools and theatres.
Performance. Numerous solo and ensemble performances, from large London choruses to solos in concerts, special events, weddings, etc. Currently semi-professional; study voice with Jenevora Williams in Guildford. Conduct local church choir.
Other Information
All styles covered, mainly beginners to intermediate; Music Theatre a speciality. Am happy to accompany my students on the piano, or use CD backing tracks as appropriate. Some students record their lessons for study purposes.
