Mr James Grimsey

Biography

James is a freelance voice tutor specialising in musical theatre. He works in several colleges around the country providing voice training and musical direction. His professional teaching work has included Arts Educational School and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. James coaches using Estill principles to give students a solid framework in which to produce a high standard of vocal work. He is delighted to have students currently holding places for several top drama schools including Arts Educational school and Laine Theatre Arts.

James was awarded the degree of Master of Arts in 2003 (Performance) by the University of East Anglia.

His performance work has included new musical theatre writing, television drama (Sky One) and currently he is featured in a vocal performance replicating a car for the Honda commercial, choir.

Credits as a musical director include: Fame, The Goodbye Girl and is about to embark on a production of Guys and Dolls. James is also the musical director of Potters Bar Community Choir.
