Teacher Directory Code of Good Practice

This Code sets out the professional standards of practice required by Voicesource if you choose to advertise your services as a vocal teacher, coach or clinical professional in the Teacher Directory. It applies to everyone who advertises their details in the directory and is in addition to the general Terms and Conditions of Use of this website.

Introduction

The Code relates to your entry and details that are displayed on your profile and our commitment to encouraging professional development. The Code does not relate to the nature of your everyday practice as you go about your work. The Code and its purpose will be reviewed annually by the Advisory Panel.

Any breach of the Code brought to the attention of Voicesource may result in your profile being suspended in the directory.

The Code of Good Practice

1. All the details submitted into the directory and displayed on your profile are correct and an honest reflection of your current practice.
2. You shall not claim any level of competence that you do not possess.
3. You shall only offer to do work or provide a service that is within your professional competence.
4. You shall seek to upgrade your professional knowledge and skill, and shall maintain awareness of developments, procedures and standards which are relevant to your field.
5. You shall accept professional responsibility for your work.

In line with Points 1, 2, 3, and 4, it is important that you keep your teacher profile and membership record up-to-date.

In line with Point 4, only members who have attended a course, workshop, conference or event related to voice in the last three years and have entered these details into their membership record are able to publicly display their profile. Your profile will automatically be hidden if you do not keep this part of your membership record up-to-date. We recommend that you opt to display this information on your profile as we encourage users of the directory to consider this information.

By entering details in the teacher profile and submitting this profile for display in the directory, you are displaying information publicly and acknowledge that Voicesource Limited cannot accept responsibility for third-parties that contact you or use this information. Voicesource Limited will only use your data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and your chosen communication preferences.
